What is WISH
WISH is an acronym for Wives In Special Households. The WISH group focuses on helping women who have husbands who do not know Jesus Christ or have fallen away from His love.
This site is designed to assist women with resources for their relationships with their husbands and their relationship with Jesus Christ. The reference materials are to help you, but the primary reference is the Bible. The Bible offers the truth for all situations and only the Lord can provide the answers you may need.
"The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26
Pray for my husband, what about me??
Prayer is one of the most important things we can do for our husbands. When we cannot speak to him directly, we can allow our prayers to be heard by God and filtered into our husbands through God’s quiet prompting or guiding.
The first thing that you notice when you begin to pray for your husband is not the change in him, but the change in you. This sounds weird, but it is true. Your heart is more open to the Lord’s word and you can hear what He has in store for you and your husband. But you must be willing to listen to what He is telling you. Your prayers may be about your husband but the Lord may be telling you something in your own life that needs to change. Remember that God knows the whole story and we can only see the here and now.
When I first started praying for my husband, it was always that he would come to know the Lord. I did not take the time to listen to the Holy Spirit. I only knew that if I kept praying for my husband's salvation, that God had to listen.
It says it in Matthew 21:22 “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer” So whatever I asked I should get right? WRONG The Lord has answered my prayer…is my husband saved…no! But that is not my doing. I can only continue to lift him up to the Lord and ask the Lord to help me be the wife I should be, and I pray that God will prick my husband's heart—someday soon!
